We had been studying an osprey nest atop some hydroelectric poles, and were just driving away when I spotted this bird, which must have been watching us as we watched its nest. I rolled down the window and it just sat there and allowed me to take its photo. Didn't realize until I saw the photo at home how menacing it actually was... They are large!!

I was lucky to watch one catch a huge fish in Scotland a few years ago- magnificant birds!

Wow, that is one amazing shot! And right after I finished commenting that they attack anyone bothering them nesting! AHHHH! Straight to favorites. I have goosebumps all over!
