Very nice colour and bonus too with flower buds.

I love it! It needs a bit of shade, or the golden leaves scorch when the sun hits them.

Another beauty, it must be much warmer where you are mine is still tightly closed.

I don't know about much warmer - maybe it's because we are only a mile from the coast?

this is lovely foliage.Nice that you live near to the sea. I miss the sea as we used to live on the I.O.Wight at Lake. Used to walk along the beach into Sandown or Shanklin.

Our bit of coast here is not always accessible as the tide comes right in. The top of our 'beach' is stony, then there's muddy sand. Some of it is a bit dangerous for the unwary! It's the Bristol Channel - near where they want to put the barrage!

Is it the sort of mud that sucks you down then Spritz.

Yes - it feels horrible if you walk on it! You get straight off, I can tell you!.

Is the barrage anything to do with the sea rising and the icecaps melting, so it slows the flow of the tide up the river, a bit like the Thames barrier.

No - it's to make lots of electricity! The River Severn has the highest/lowest tidal drop of any rivers, so they are carrying out a study as to costs and the effect on the wildlife etc.before they decide - it would be very, very expensive!

What isn't expensive now Spritz, I wonder how long the wind farms situated in the sea will last and they are expensive too but I suppose the human race has to do something to help the planet.

Don't mention the word 'Wind farms'! We have been under threat of one since before we came here... Nobody wants it, it would be at the edge of an AONB, in full view, AND we are probably getting a new Nuclear Power station, as well! The wind here is either non-existent or full blast - neither of which suit wind turbines, of course. But the company gets a huge amount of money from the Govenment in subsidies, so they haven't withdrawn their application, even though it's been refused twice!!

I suppose Spritz if all the people who had bikes to keep fit on had an adapter to generate some electricity to a storage battery point that might help. We have a static bike but haven't been able to use it yet since we moved home because of all the stuff we still have in the garage. It will take me a while to get that fit again.

Talking of wind farms, four wind turbines have been erected a couple of miles from me on the land near the next village. I shall be interested to see them in motion and if they themselves cause turbulence as they are not sighted on a hill. I have been very close to a turbine before and the noise they emit is minimal.
