Do you know this Iris, BB? It was another gift from my friend up the lane... theirs is in a container and spills over the sides - it looks amazing! I'd never heard of it before.

Id love to say yes they grow everywhere here but hands up another lovely plant you have that dont have and not familiar with ...bet my weeds are bigger though lol

Well, it was a pressy from an ex-nursery owner! I was very lucky!

I give her boring things like spare Rudbeckia seedlings, she gives me unusual and rare plants! Good swap, eh?

The best but if she has space or use for them then obviously happy with the exchange ..as an ex nursery owner she will know what shes getting .

Can you believe this! Last year, I gave her a whole tray of Rudbeckia babies...hers turned out to be a gorgeous yellow with green centres, the ones I kept were mixed colours and some were BROWN!! She won't let me forget that one!

Do you think she knew ..lol

Only when I told her! She thought it was very funny...hollow laugh.

She is going to set up a plant stall on the open days - they still have some plants left.

Lovely Iris Spritz.
When it comes to weeds Bonkers, you can only be in the junior league compared with me. I have weeds that grow, not for England, but for the world championships, and I'm getting better.

I grow buttercups as big as cabbages - nah, nah, ne nah, nah.

Very pretty.

Ha ha Toto well my poor hands are suffering even though I wore gloves from clearing giant hogweed , brambles choking a buddleja and we get the giant variety of mares tail .. but no I have to concede Wagger my buttercups dont come close to the size of cabbages !

Ivy is wonderful for wildlife but when it grows from both sides and joins in the middle - doesnt do much for the lawn !

9 May, 2009

OHHHHH. IVY!!! Don't you just love the way it sneakily dives under and through the plants so that if you heave at it, the plants get damaged!

9 May, 2009

Cabbages Wagger? Ididn't know buttercups came that small.

9 May, 2009

Oh yes very nice iris.

It's very unusual, isn't it! I must remember to thank my friend again.

Heavenly soft colour, love it!

10 May, 2009

Dug three up, can't fit them in my green wheelie bin. Beautiful iris, I'm envious, Spritz.

10 May, 2009

Thanks - really, it looks better in a container so that it can drape itself gracefully over the side - it doesn't stand upright like the usual irises.

10 May, 2009

Super colours...pale blue and gold.....wonder why its confusa??

10 May, 2009

I wondered that, too - the first thing that comes to mind is a confused Iris...maybe it thinks it's a paeony or a lavender?? lol.
