The waterfall and some of my tropical plants. My husband built the red torii for me for my birthday one year. I showed him a picture of a red one that I saw in Japan.

Thanks everyone ! Earthsteward, no I don't think I've seen the kind you're talking about.
Eckie, a torii (with two i's on the end) is a Japanese structure, usually red and usually in water as far as I know, and is the entranceway to a shrine. I visited a shrine on a small Japanese island once when I lived over there, and was in awe of the huge red torii. That was my first encounter with Japanese Koi also, and I told myself then that one day I would have a Koi pond with a red torii. I consider it the entranceway to my shrine (woodland garden and koi pond).
If you 'Google' Japanese torii Miajima' you should be able to see the one I saw in person.

I absolutely love your Torii. Have you seen other forms of this, such as the v-shaped ones over a Christ or Mary Statute?
