Louise, you would probably find this one in the pond marginals section in a good nursery, which is where I found mine. These plants do best in full sun, but need very moist soil. I almost completely blocked the drainage holes in the pot in which I planted it. It seems to be doing well so far. :-)

Ah, in that case there wouldn't be a single area that it would be happy in in my garden because it's well drained everywhere and not a scrap of moisture retentive soil anywhere :(
I could try doing what you do, keeping it in an almost blocked pot though and sinking that into the ground.

Hi Louise, don't know if I told you, but I don't have an inch of border, or any natural soil whatever, in my garden. All raised beds and containers. If you really like this, go for it. I've treated mine a bit like a clematis. The pot it's in is in a shady corner, but the plant itself gets full sun most of the day. I've had it nearly 3 months now, and is looking good. I only water it well 3 times a week, even though it is in a pot
We really like when there's a breeze, because, being bi-coloured, the plant "shimmers" - well, that's how I'd describe it! I paid £4 for my plant, so wasn't overly expensive. :-).

Lovely looking plant. Sounds as if it might like my front garden so I've added it to favourites so I don't forget its name! Getting quite a list now :)

Hi, Fl, although it doesn't have a name-link to our theme story, I couldn't resist this wonderfully-coloured plant for our chocolate garden, when I visited a fairly local fab nursery. It's looking gr8 right now. :-)

I'll look forward to seeing them, Alice! :-) Our buds look deep orange, but suspect that they might be yellow?

Yes, yellow :)

They are beginning to open now, and will be yellow, of course. Many Thanks! :-)
