the reason i think they were so delicious was that the chocolate melted and mixed with the yeast to make them rise better and the resulting mix was soooo yummy.
my daughter is studying medical chemistry at uni and she thought that adding chocolate at a critical time would help and it did.

the buns will probably have their recipe handed down through the family as it is one of those cooking recipes that can only be shown not written.

how do you write down." you mix the stuff till it looks and feels like this"

Happy Easter to you as well, PD! Like the idea of Hot Cross buns with chocolate! I've only ever had them with currents, still they are nice as well! My wife brought me a couple of packets of buns home from work on Saturday. Would you believe I'd forgotten all about them!!! *Blush* (Embarrassed)
