It's in full bloom today, and there are plenty of buds to come on the plant.

Beautiful...I cant wait for mine, but they are only just out of the ground.....

They come up quite fast once they start, so yours won't be long, Milky!
Thanks again, Carol. :-)

These are perfect Barbara , I spotted some in flower almost hidden by a shrub i'm disappointed because the petals have been nibbled by something and has spoiled them :o(

What a lovely clear picture, perfect indeed Barbara.

Thanks - I think I was lucky this year. The first bloom was a bit nibbled last year!
12 Feb, 2011
Went looking for ours, that last frost has taken the buds, would you believe it?
12 Feb, 2011
Oh no - I'm sorry to hear that. :-((
I have some more out, but I forgot to take the camera outside with me and the light faded before I remembered. The anemone-flowered plant is full out, and the one that had its first flowers last year, too.

Lovely photo, made me smile! We have 3 white ones in flower - they seem to be earlier than the purple?
13 Feb, 2011
Thanks - I'm glad! I expect they're H. niger if they're pure white, Sheila. They're always the first to bloom.
13 Feb, 2011
Right, thanks. :)

14 Feb, 2011
They're not normally affected by cold, luckily! (Apart from H. lividus...)
