Standing out all alone, this was tall and really needing nestled in a bit more. Moving to a new garden I can place it more appropriately. Bees seem to love it.

This is really pretty.

Thank you. I like them best just starting up like this. Once it is going strong, the individual flowers disappear in the pack.

I am new to this plant and was given one recently.
I just love it.

Working at the greenhouse I discovered mixed into the aquilegia, since it hadn't been flowering in the pot and looked similar. I had no idea that it would get so tall and have such a strong presence. I love it now too. :-) Thank you Val.

The foliage is beautiful too, don't you think? I have drifts of the white thalictrum near the edge of the forest...it competes with Joe Pye..so lacy and delicate...this would be a good plant to put at the edge of your forest it will tolerate shade and likes it moist. a perfect verge plant.

I do like the 'mist' of foliage as I call it. :-) The front garden, where I'm moving everything is half the most sun for the area, and the other half shaded most of the day. The edge of the wood is against all that sun, full of wild roses. I'm planning a row of shade lovers from the front walk out, along the bank where the runoff sinks in. Thalictrum, ligularia, aconite, dicentra ( I checked the name and found out it is now Lamprocapnos sceptabilis, sheesh) I'll have spring summer and fall blooms and contrasting foliage. I'm sure there is a few I'm leaving out. It is coming time that I just haul everything in a big rush. I've been waiting as the air cools and the blooms finish off to start digging. That is now, we are starting to turn golden.

My hibiscus is yet to bloom...I hope our fall can hold off a little longer. I fancy you've had a longer season this year?

We' ve been spoiled with early spring late fall for some years now. Not so this year. Autumn is trying to hold out, but snow is collecting in Denali to the south. I'm warmer up here on the hill now, but most expect an early winter to set in soon. A drive yesterday I found fall colors near full swing, just another week or two and it could drop the white stuff here.

I wonder if that bodes for the rest of the continent...early winter...long and cold? So far we are ok...nights getting down to 50's.. but that can change in an hour or two.-/ Hibiscus has blossomed and looks like it will have a decent run of bloom this year...Yay!!

I just know I believe it, colors are coming fast. I get to work down on the southeast panhandle for a few weeks. I might come back to winter once that finishes. I'm planning to get into that last of summer weather while I'm there.
