Once my daffodils die back can i leave them in the container and plant annuals around them?

Or try sprinkling annual seeds over the compost, try Nigella or Calendula or Californian poppies (ahh! ducked out of spelling the Latin name!!)

I regularly put plants over bulbs in pots. just be careful you dont damage the bulbs.

Yes, but take care when you remove the annuals and plant for the spring. You can liquid feed through the summer and the bulbs will take up some of it to make good flowers next year.
