Moving our pond - will the frogs find it next year??
We are redesigning our garden and are hoping to relocate the pond [no fish, but plenty of frogs] some 20 feet from where it is now. It's new location is on a slope, so will be raised about 18 inches at one end to over 2 feet at the end - in keeping with it's new patio. We hope to do this work over the summer, when our current frogs will have left home for the duration.
Unfortunately we can't keep the old pond as it will be in the middle of my new raised vegetable bed.
Does anyone have any experience of this and do the frogs find their new home. Can frogs climb, or will I need to provide a ladder in the form of planting?
Would be very sorry to lose the frogs as, at least 30 plus are in there just now, making merry. Generally we have upwards of 100 froglets around the garden for a few weeks, before they find their new homes.

Yes the frogs will find it but dont forget to give them some protection from preditors, Frogs tend to avoid open spaces around ponds if there is a more protected one near by.

we have a raised pond 3ft off the ground. frogs are able to get in with out a problem. they will also find it so dont worry about them. will you post photos as work progresses?
