On plant
Acer palmatum

None of our Japanese acers has ever flowered or seeded. I wouldn't want to try growing them from cuttings personally, shrubs yes - trees no, but that is just me.

I have never had success with cuttings from a Jap Acer but they grow wonderfully well from their seed. When the seed appears, looking much like that of a sycamore, pick and plant in pots straight away. They grow really easily. However, they don't grow 'true' from seed but you can get some interesting versions. Good luck.
