On plant Cocos nucifera

What are you wanting to grow? Usually seeds are removed from their seedpods before planting. Could you give us some more info?

Usually you start with a coconut with with the husk still on--smooth and green or tan, not dark brown and "furry". Throw it into a full bathtub, to see which way it floats, the side that wants to remain up is the top. Plant it that way with about 1/3 to 1/2 of the pod showing above the compost. Then keep it warm and sunny--it won't sprout unless the soil temp is at least 38 deg. C. It can take from 3-12 months to sprout, starting with the roots. At least another 3 years before the leaves start to turn feathery. If you are switching pots, leave it at the original level, and use a fast-draining mix.

How do I say thanks?
