I sowed mine last weekend. They're in a windowsill propergator in the kitchen. Already I have seedlings about 2" high! I have chosen 'Moneymaker'. No one had any luck with tomatoes last year due to the weather - hopefully this year we will all be reporting great success. It's the right time to sow them for greenhouse growing or indoors I believe.

Hmmm - I'd say you're way too early. I don't start mine until mid March, otherwise they're sitting around in pots with low tempeartures and insufficient light. Hope you prove me wrong!

I agree with Andrewr. It is not wise to sow as early as this unless you have a heated greenhouse. For outdoor plants I would sow in a warm place (I put them near the boiler) and watch carefully for any sign of growth, then they must have plenty of light - not full sun though. I sow 3 seeds to a small pot, and pinch out the two weaker seedlings. Don't crowd the pots together - without light they grow spindly.

THANKS GREENFINGERS ,MY THINKING IS THAT IF THEY FAIL IVE STILL GOT TIME TO RESOW AND MAYBE GET A DECENT CROP

hi all, i'm new here and i have just planted some moneymaker tom seeds a few days ago myself, never grown toms before, infact i'm a complete novice at gardening, i had to drain off excess water from my tom plants as i think i over watered them, they were on my kitchen windowsill, but i have decided to move them to the rontroom by the heater till they have dried up abit from the excess water.
