A Luxembourg garden

Well, we had been invited to stay at our daughter and son-in-law’s house in Luxembourg for Christmas.
We left on 23rd Dec and despite the freezing fog in England and the problems with the Eurotunnel, we got there in 12 hours after driving over 500 miles.
We came back on 28th Dec (yesterday) Tired and doing very little today!
I didnt take many photos cos it rained a bit, but I did take some of the back garden which needs some evergreen bushes to give a screen from the school below.
Any suggestion would be gratefully received by my daughter. She cant get Bay in Lux. but has planted some “Portugese evergreens” – can you see them on the right?Just to show you it is sometimes sunny in Luxembourg, I enclose a couple of the skating rink and my family, Rachel, Karen, Sam and Millie
T&M catalogue has arrived – Yippee!
Happy New Year everyone!

It looks nice there and you seem to have had a good time with your lovely family. Yes I'm sure your daughter will get some helpful advice from someone on the site. Thank you for the nice photos Rachelsmum.

Can she get Escallonia over there? That's evergreen and has flowers in the summer, too. It makes a good hedge.
Glad you weren't stuck for hours in the Channel Tunnel, by the way! That sounded like pure hell. :-(((

Hi everyone,
thanks for the kind messages.
Yes, I believe she is after some escallonia, and maybe a couple of small conifers. The soil doesnt seem to be very fertile and most gardeners seem to on containers etc. But Karen has big ideas!
Yes we missed the dramas in the tunnel, thank goodness! :))))

what a lovely family group the last photo is. They have a lovely view even if there is a school near by.
