We are now in the middle of October and can’t believe how many plants there are now still in flower.
So I thought I would share them with you!
Osteospermum still doing well!
This Canary Island foxglove has been flowering since early summer!
I am pleased to say that my Alstromerias have come back and flowered as I thought I had lost them in the severe heatwave.
Annual dahlias still doing well!
Cornus Kousa
The colours on the last two are much brighter and doesn’t really show up on my camera.

Just Joey.
A lot of people are saying we are in for a bad winter!
I don’t know how they know, but hope it doesn’t happen!
I am quite enjoying this mild weather and if it does happen..well..we can’t complain seeing how we have had a brilliant summer starting in May!
No heating on yet!!
Take care my friends and enjoy your garden!

All looks lovely Rose, after all that heat and lack of rain over the last months our autumn colours and the health of the plants is outstanding, we deserve them after losing so much during the summer, the perennials bounced back with a vengeance, long may it last. As regards winter, from what I remember in the late '70's, especially after the heatwave of '76 we did have long bad winters with plenty of snow and icy conditions, can remember struggling to get the children to school and hubby having to get through snow drifts to work so I guess we wait and see, we cannot change it can we ... Its good to see your photo's again, Lovely blog and photo's Rose..xx

Thanks Klahanie!
Just Joey just gets better every year! I have had this one since we lived in Willow Cottage years ago and it just moves around with me and still flowers well!
Thanks Julia! Just Joey is one of our favourites.
Thanks Seaburn!
Thank you Sue! I do hope you are wrong about the coming winter!
But here in Cleethorpes we have been having milder winters, so maybe our climate with global warming is going to stay free of snow and frost! xx

A colourful selection there, Rose. Some of my wood asters which I thought had died off are poking through, but no sign of the alstros, though. :-(

Shame about the Alstromerias Ange! Maybe they will come back next year!
I thought I had lost mine but after watering them quite often, they revived.

It all looks lovely,Rose, and aren't we lucky to still have so much in flower, ? unlike earlier years, when they would have been in the compost bin by now! I do love your Alstromerias, something to keep in mind for next year .:o). x

Thanks Sandra! You can't go wrong with Alstromerias.
They flower all through summer until the first frosts and keep between 2 and 3 weeks in a vase.
Thanks Feverfew.
Just Joey has done really well this year but unfortunately the heavy rain we had today finished them off!
