I was not sure how the Vanilla Peach would turn out but it is pretty much what it was like on the packet. I noticed you have posted a Prom Dance. With up to 3 heads on a 35cm stem I think it is a very good plant. Both fall in to Division 11. VP is in 11A and PD is in 11B. Both are scented but I do not like the scent of any daffs or narcissus. I have changed the image of Double Smiles which is one of my favourites. It is amodern American grown hybrid introduced in 2003 by Brent and Becky's bulbs. It grows from 6" -12" and the flower head is quite small.

Another lovely collection. I like the peach one and love the Double Smiles, both for its name and its flower :)

I am pleased you are all enjoying sharing my minor talent for growing daffs. lol. They really are a beginners choice because they are so undemanding.

I just love Daffs! I'm not sure about the peach though ! It seems strange not seeing the usual yellow and white ones, but you do have a lovely collection !

Rose I think the Vanilla Peach looks better in real life than I have been able to capture. The Blushing Lady in the next blog is very pretty. Of the modern ones I think the Prom Dance would get my vote.

I showed a photo of Prom Dance on the SRGC site and another member said he thought it bore a close resemblance to Narcissus 'Slatter'. It was registered by an Australian grower back in 1999 so I am waiting to see if there is any update on that information. With three heads to a stem I think it is definitely a winner regardless of the name. Prom Dance sounds and suits the flower better I think but if I had bred it and gone to the trouble of registering it and then it was claimed by someone else I would be very upset. It will be interesting to see if there is a follow up on the problem.
