Bargains to be had.

Many of you know that I am very lucky to have several very inexpensive garden outlets near me. Today just happened to be one of those days when I struck lucky.
Iris historides ‘Katherine Hodgkin’ 85p a pot but as I am a regular [too regular according to my OH] customer the plant man in the layby on the way to Beverley, gave me 9 for £3. I thought I had been lucky earlier on when I bought 3 for £2.50 from Beverley Market.
These pretty primula were £4.
The tray of viola were £1.50
I moved on to a local garden centre and picked up these 2 ferns for £1.99 each. The labels have the leaf shape as a silhouette as well as the plant name. Very good label.
Lastly I called in at the discount garden centre and picked up 5 pots of Iris reticulata ‘Purple Gem’ for a pound as they had finished flowering. They will come again next year but I dont know where they are going yet.
And this tray of pansies for £3.00 not the cheapest but I loved the colours. Some will go into the revamped conifer bed, others for pots. There are some bright crimson ones in among the pack but I dont know where those will go. probably in the front garden
So the money I made from selling plants I had propagated was ‘recycled’ into more plants for the back garden.
I love this type of shopping.
Do you?

I think I need to move house!! Lovely bargains, especially Katherine Hodgkins.
I picked up 3 pots of Cyclamen coum for £1 each today - obviously finished but they will be back next winter!
I like the colour of those pansies. Another good place to pick up reasonably priced ferns is Morrisons - they are often priced at £1.75

You've done really well there, Sbg! We have a nursery not too far away which supplies a lot of the local outlets, so there is the double whammy of locally grown stuff at a lower price, but your bargains are spectacular. So you can indulge yourself and feel smug at the same time. Proper job!

Amazing bargains! You're so lucky to be able to shop like this! Those primulas are gorgeous and I do love the colours of those pansies, I'm sure I couldn't have resisted them if I'd seen them. You're going to be pretty busy planting them all out!
