farewell 2024

As 2024 comes to an end I wont be particularly sad to see the back of it. The family have lost 5 really good friends over the year and their absence in our lives are keenly felt.

High lights for me have been Toria and Dan achieve good jobs and their own home. We spent the last week with them in Norfolk and needless to say I helped tackle their front garden.
Back in October I made a start on the very weedy front garden.

The 2 or possibly 3 over grown Euonymus were left as I didn’t have time to dig then out with a clump of wood avens and an unidentified thug.

We went back on the 23rd and it wasn’t until Boxing day that I got back out there and shifted the remainder. I found a path under the kitchen window too.

Toria and Dan went to see Dan’s mum on Sunday until today, so I was left with the request to relocate the rose from the back garden to the front and plant the 2 Hebe pinguifolia as well as the 20 pots of crocus I had taken down.

‘If’ I fancied it could I plant the wisteria and clematis against the pergola in the back garden too.

Wisteria

Clematis montana Rubens

Her dad also built the cold frame we had bought them and I did the wood preservative so it can go outside.

2025 will see me trying to tackle my own garden. I do wonder if Toria will reciprocate in my garden when she pops over? I wont hold my breath haha.

wishing you all a prosperous and happy and healthy 2025

Just popped in to see if there was anything to look at, before going to bed (I'm not staying up for the NY - it's too long and boring)
I see you've been busy Eileen, and it looks as if it's going to continue into 2025

Sorry you've lost so many friends, each year brings its joys and sadnesses. I always feel grateful for having had past family and friends (and pets) in my life, and hope I can appreciate and love the ones I've still got as much as I can.

Happy New Year ! :)

So sorry to hear about all the loss you and your family experienced last year. I can understand why you're not necessarily looking back on 2024 with fondness.

I'm with you on that one. It was a particularly hard year for some members of my family as well, and I'm pleased that's all behind us now.

You've obviously made a huge improvement in Toria's and Dan's garden already and I'm sure they will appreciate the results greatly.

Sounds like you have done some hard work in Toria’s garden over the holiday period. I hope you still have some energy left to tackle your own. I managed about 3 hours in mine on 29th, just tidying really. I did feel better for it when I went in to eat. Being in all day does not agree with me. Anyway Best Wishes for 2025 & I hope no more losses from your friends & family.

So sorry you have lost so many friends Seaburn.
I hope 2025 is better for you and will only have your garden to do!
I had to smile when Toria said " if you fancied it!"
They are lucky to have you and hope they appreciate what you have done for them.
