Now what shall we do with these?

We find these beasts from time to time. These came from just 2 pots of hardy geraniums.
So what shall we do?

Feed them to these……. perhaps?

All gone!

Demonical laughter echoes around the pond.

Oh my goodness! At least the fish appreciated them!

I have some pots that I know they are in, you can't use the peat again in case, so I suppose just put it on the borders.

No Lizzie, I wouldn't even do that as any eggs could be transferred to your flowerbed. Bag it up and take it to the tip, for safe disposal.

Oh my goodness there is no sign of my fish yet!

the fish have stayed up and feeding all year this year.
Not hard snoop - just like treating the fish.
I also chuck the compost on the borders. The birds pick it over within minutes. So far so good.

Like mine Lincs, waters too cold as yet for ours to feed

hope I don't find any, I'm still sad at losing my Obsidian heuchera last year.....

Your fish look similar to ours with the big tails etc and they're always up and looking for food, I think I've only missed about 4 or 5 days not feeding them over the winter, Roy.

What sort of maggots , Sbg Ç
We used to live next door to a "gentleman´s" hairdresser when I was a little girl , and the hair dresser used to take me to see the tubs-full of "gentles" or fly maggots writhing about that he sold for fishing . ( I´m not sure if it was a treat or not !)
Your fish certainly enjoyed their treat though .

they were vine weevil grubs.
yes gentles are fly larva also called pinkies up north.
Most bait shops round here just sell the bluebottle maggots. Bigger and easier to farm.

There are a range of gold fish types and 2 wild carp in there as well. 17/18 at the last count.

Hi Sbg, I've bought a couple of hardy geraniums this year, I hope there aren't any in mine, I haven't planted them out yet, the ground has been to wet to walk on until this weekend, so hopefully will get them in this week, now we have some decent weather, Derek.
