Where I have been and not been!

Last week hubby and I went up to Northumberland with a couple of chums on the motor bikes. Think Last of the summer wine and I was either Marina or Nora Batty depending on if I was chivvying the lads [78. 76 and my hubby 64 yrs old] to wash up, cook breakfast etc.

We had dry but cool weather which was good for motorcycling. We had a super little cottage between Bellingham and Kielder. Everyday we did over 100 miles and we took in Craster, Union Bridge etc.

On 2 occasions we rode through Rothbury: did we stop at Cragside house and garden? No we didn’t.
We also drove through Alnwick, did we stop at the gardens there? No we didn’t.

Now I understand that gardens aren’t for every one but one little visit would have been nice.

Good news though on our return home. Victoria has gained a full time, permanent ecology role in Norfolk. So tomorrow we are going to Attleborough to look at a house to rent. Bonus is it is the next street down from Beales roses. And I am going in there. Purse/credit card brace yourself.

We have just received 600 wedding photos from the photographer for Victoria and Dan’s wedding in April, it is so well documented I am going to have trouble selecting 50 for the album.

The following 3 photos were taken after I had left to go to the Beverley Barn venue. I particularly like them.

This is sister Elizabeth with Victoria, just getting her ready for the revel to her dad.

Proud dad.

My special 3 people getting ready to leave. The garden that you can see looks decent any way.

It ought to look good after all you dedicated work on it! 600 pics are going to take some looking through! Guess we shall have to be patient a little longer!

Lovely to see informal shots of your family Eileen.

Some interesting choices to be made: good luck! How tantalising to drive by all those garden places and not get a peek..
Enjoy Beales and your visit to Attleborough - a nice part of the country. Lots of good garden places to visit... ;-)

Pity you didn't stop in any gardens, especially since it seems you did most of the work. Anyway, have a good spend in Beals Roses.
Very good photos, they will be a nice memory for you of a very special day :)

Lovely photos SBG of your family, and glad you had a nice week away, and enjoy Beales roses.

Three beautiful photos Sbg and a lovely write - up about your holiday.
Please make up for your lack of garden experiences when you go to Beales' roses and do tell us what you bought!!

well the house is lovely but we are just waiting to find out if she & Dan have got it.

Had a great time in Beale's, the garden displays were beautiful but I didn't buy any plants. Nothing really grabbed me. Strange. I'll blame the heat.

Pity about the missed garden opportunities but I guess it’ not everybody’s thing, they could have allowed you one though. Thanks for sharing photos of V’s wedding. I hope the get the house.

Sadly they didn't get the house. So still looking for accommodation. Temporary will do but anything really. So if any of you know of a rental coming up in the Thetford / Diss region of Norfolk I'd be very grateful.
