For the first time i have Lily beetles!!! Have squashed 3 of the little blighters today and when i went down the garden the lily in the border has been well and truly knobbled!! Never had them before now do they lay eggs on the lily? Can i spray them? I will continue squishing them i don’t want to lose my lovely lillies :o(

Your Lilies are beautiful, so sorry to hear about your little red visitors, I hope you manage to get rid of them all, I have only two lily plants and they are only just starting to bud, so will derfinately be on the watch for the pesky critters!

You have to creep up on them as they fall to the ground, turn on their backs and camouflage really well !

I have had several but all has been quiet for a few weeks. I do check under leaves for eggs which I have found some in the past. Mind you earlier tonight whilst watering I found two lily beetle larva. Looking like bird poo but enjoying the leaves. They are now squished.
