It was my birthday yesterday and i got some money from my parents so off i went to the garden centre this rainy afternoon, i wanted a dwarf lilac, my friend has one and its lovely, found this one called ‘Palibin’
I had 20.00 to spend so had another look round, if i don’t spend it (and it was meant for me to spend as warned by my mother….‘make sure you spend it on yourself!’) it fritters away on bits and bobs for the house, i saw some small Bacopa plants for hanging baskets, got 2 of those one each for the baskets to go with the fuschias and Petunias. Then i saw a dwarf dianthus called ‘Sugar Plum’ supposed to have a ‘heavenly scent’.
My friend came today with a lovely gift the sign makes me smile i have hung it in the kitchen and i’ve never seen a bell like this one i love it!!! Its hanging from the basket hook at the moment too rainy today to find somewhere to hang it.
It was also my daughters birthday she is now 17 (where did those years go then?!) this was her birthday cake, Dr.Who fanatic!!!

Birthday wishes to you both ... you spent well there ... lovely Lilac and the scent from the Dianthus wll be lovely in the Summer. I do like that bell ... you'll be able to ring it to tell the workmen when it's time for tea .......

Lovely gifts Sk, birthday wishes to you both, good choice of cake for a Dr Who fan..I have a dwarf lilac in a pot on my patio, its just coming into flower, had it about 5yrs now and its quite happy in its surrroundings, hope yours do well for you....

You have had some lovely pressies...the bell is really unusual and I am partial to the lilac as well. It was nice to have birthday money to get something you will enjoy for a very long time...

lovely gifts you got Sk and love the bell so unusual, my son is a dr who buff and nothing he didnt know about it growing up even the olad one i grew up with, i remeber him coming home and the taecher had said about daliks not being able to go up steps etc,, so quickly joe put his hand up at the wise age of 7 and said `i think you will find your wrong there miss as daliks can now elevate lol, apparently she laughed and came back later to him and appolagised, she had checked and joe was right hahaah, thanxs SK brought a smile to my face remembering :o))

Oh yes they can sanbaz lol!! I think she will always be a Dr. Who fan for christmas everything was dr.who, even got her a very very very long scarf like Tom bakers, cost me an arm and a leg!!!

Happy birthday to you and your daughter SK. What a lovely birthday present you had 17 years ago and did you really make that cake yourself? LOL
I really like the bell and those dwarf lilacs are beautiful. I've no room for one in the flower beds but maybe I could keep one in a pot.....Mothers Day is nearly here and I sense some GC vouchers are on their way :o))))

joes dad`s partner knitted one for him years ago i didnt think he would like it but he loved it, he is always so gratefull, i still have all his dr who figures etc displayed in his room, think they will always be there till he gets his own home one day lol
