Anyone finished their Ark yet? isn’t it awful? all my flowers have been flattened :(
the peony is weighed down with rain, Aqueligias all leaning at an angle poor things, can’t get the benefit of them as it never seems to stop raining long enough!
managed to take these the other day, garden would look nice if it would only stop!
I have now got a young man to come in and ‘do’ the hard work for me, my health is getting worse and my poor old back is suffering, he’s very willing as he’s at University and needs the money! says he’s fed up of eating beans lol!
the nettle is the first thing I shall have him pull up!
my fushcia’s arrived this morning, Rapunzel, Voodoo, Seventh Heaven and Quasar, have put my baskets out now, they are full of lobelia, swan river daisies, petunias and fushcia’s, should make a nice display…..if we get the sunshine back!
Happy gardening everyone!

Sympathise, SK. Just back from couple of days in London to find loads of flattened and broken plants. Fingers crossed for better weather than forecast!

Hope it dries up for you soon. Good idea to get someone into help and glad to read he's very keen.
I hope your poppy manages to get a chance to show off for you.

Sorry your health is stopping you S'killa but its good that you have help, now you'll be able to concentrate on the jobs that you can do, weather permitting that is.
I do have a kayak you can borrow if you like, it belongs to my son and has only ever been in the river twice, he left home over 10yrs ago but it still resides in my garden, lol..
Just had a brilliant idea, I ought to plant it up, it will go well with our soggy gardens,

Yes, rain here also ... and it's so cold too :(
Your hanging baskets sound as if they'll give you a good display later on :)

No rain, sunny at the mo but clouds are gathering, blowing a gale and yes its back to wearing warm clothing...Last Sunday I was getting sunburnt in Boston, the joys of our english weather, lol....

I hear you. I'm desperately hoping for a dry sunny day even if it is just one day. If the temp was higher here I would seriously consider planting rice in my garden it's so wet here. ughhh... what's that bud on the first and last picture? is it anemone?
Glad to see someone else is itching to see the garden (and baskets) come to life.

It's a perennial poppy Jagienka, one is just opening will take a pic when it opens unless the flipping rain ruins it!!

Glad you've got some help with the heavy work, SK, now you can enjoy the gentle bits and potter when you can (and the weather permits). Can't you get Rocky to do any digging for you :)
26 May, 2014
Do you know Gee he doesn't dig!? Never has done, mind you he's always been told off if he goes on the borders!

As you say SK the rain has been so heavy much of the planting has been beaten down and the poor roses are suffering, but today is a little better only the odd shower.
