Well archway arrived this afternoon and lo and behold its plastic!!!! Does not say plastic in the catalogue and its underneath a wooden one, now does anyone have a plastic one? Am not sure whether to keep or not, must admit to being a tad disappointed, it looks lovely in the catalogue, (Argos page 75 no.15 ) will it be ok? will it fade with time? any comments would be gratefully recieved!!!

aww no thats a shame. if its not the one you wanted then i think too that you would be best sending it back .
its hard to know really what to do, once you have something growing up the arch then you wont even see it

That's a bit misleading, isn't it - not to say plastic in the catalogue. Let us know what you decide to do. It's true you won't see much of it when plants are growing against it.

Some plastics can get quite brittle when exposed to the elements. It may end up just cracking and breaking after a couple of years.
I'd be inclined to send it back too. If it isn't what you envisioned then don't have it. It will always be in the back of your mind if you don't.

Just looked in the catalogue and it does look quite attractive. It looks better than the wooden one above. I suppose its a matter of you being happy knowing that its plastic. On the practical side it wont need any maintenance like the wooden one. B&Q have a similar one in wood which looks realy good quality but is twice the price!. Argos are usually good at taking things back if you are not happy with them.
Decisions, decisions.

Well it should have said it was plastic in the description. How disappointing.

Must say that I would be inclined to send it back. If you were expecting wood then plastic would be disappointing.
If it is the solid recycled plastic stuff then it will last and will not need any maintenance but you will always know it is plastic.
