Potatoes

A while ago i ordered from The Telegraph some potatoes they came with potato sacks 1 large and 2 small, plus Vivaldi seed potatoes, and 5 packets of free seeds, well they arrived this morning and all for the price of postage, £3.99. what a bargain, the seeds are veg and salad, purple brussel sprouts, red cabbage, cornsalad, tomatoes (harbinger), and broccoli, price on packets £1.99! Good buy, never grown potatoes before but came with good instructions (thompson and morgan) i have put the seeds pots in an egg box to ‘chit’, lovely healthy looking spuds, am quite excited now about growing some veg, i haven’t a veg bit in my garden so my friend and neighbour has taken the cabbage, broccoli and sprouts to grow in her veg patch, i am going to try the salad in one of the smaller bags and the tomatoes are an outdoor type so i can put them in one of the borders.

Any tips would be gratefully recieved!

They look grand, I was taught you can grow them in straw you take some dirt where you put your potato with the eye then you place the dirt in the straw and then the potatoes runners will grow in the straw and they will all be clean I have not tried it but I want to this year I have my bed ready I will be going to get my straw today I will take pictures. Good luck these look really good. Have fun
