For Tetrarch . . . some "matching" pinks

Tet sent out the challenge for us to pick out toning plants from our gardens. Not sure this is quite “up to the mark”, but here goes.
Geranium in a tub, still flowering madly
Petunia in the same tub . . .
My favourite Salvia ‘Cerro Potosi’ – has flowered ALL summer. And so easy from cuttings that everyone in the gardening group has one now!
Gaura – another long-flowering plant
Cyclamen in various shades of pink
Pale pink Salvia ‘Peter Vidgeon’
‘Magic carpet’ rose, blooming for the second time
And not VERY pink, but couldn’t resist including my lovely Salvia ‘Waverley’, which is not hardy, so is sitting pretty in the greenhouse.
Sorry about the quality of the photos! Just seeing if I can add one more . . . Wow, made it. This is Phlox ‘bright eyes’ I think.

Thank you Terra and Sticki - you two were speedy! The challenge was in Tetrarch's blog of 16th October Sticki - about Purples in her garden.

Sorry.. I added a question about your gauras afterwards !

I don't take cuttings from the Gauras, Terra, so they must survive! Certainly this is the second year I've had them, so apparently they didn't mind last winter's freezing temperatures.

That's amazing that they came through the freeze so well.. I'll add this blog to GoYpedia "Gauras" :o)

My Gauras have been non stop flowering since May and they look just as good now! Lovely blog Sheila, I am afraid that our lovely borders will get a sorry awakening before long!

Salvia Waverley is really beautiful isn't it. I've never seen it before..pity it's tender.

Some lovely shades of pink Shielabub, Barbara Cartland would certainly agree.

Thank you Grandma, Karen and Stroller! Karen, the Salvia 'Waverley' was one listed as a favourite by the current "nurseryman" in October's Gardens Illustrated mag - and as he happens to run our local nursery, I was able to visit recently, and he found me one. :))
I'll take cuttings, but it doesn't seem to set seed.

What a handy place you live in Sheila! :))

Thats great Sheilabub, love the Magic Carpet rose, that would look great underplanted with the Gaura and the cyclamen..and your Cerro whatsit salvia is gorgeous! Potosi..had to look back..that one is definitely on my list!

I havent any pinks that I can cross reference to your plants but I shall get the pink gaura to see if it tones with any of my pink border (tough if it doesnt..I still want it!) then I may be able to add to your list.

Yes Karen - I'm a lucky lady! Thanks Tet - the ones you mention are all in the same bed, surrounded by Heucheras. The rose is a sprawling one . . . too close to the ground to underplant, but lovely next to H. 'midnight rose'. The Cyclamen are under a new Amelanchier, so looking forward to seeing that in flower next April!

Such a beautiful tree that, had to leave one behind 11 years ago..its either truly gorgeous now, or cut down by new owners..we also left a fairly new Acer Brilliantissimum. Look forward to the pics Sheilabub. How about that phlox..can you remember the name of it? I have Midnight Rose but it goes with so many shades of pink, but I do have Phlox Pink Eye Flame..so we may have a tonal match to start adding more pinks.

Yes indeedy - it's my second in this garden!
I THINK the Phlox is Bright Eyes . . . will have a look next time I'm in the greenhouse (where all the labels are kept)!
