Short stroll on a sunny March morning

The sun is shining! Like most of you I’m sure, I just love this time of year with young plants burgeoning and so much to look forward to. My Prunus ko-jo no mai even has two tiny flowers . . . steady on I told it . . . but the photo I took was useless. (OK, I’ll show you anyway – can you see the two flowers?!)

These pics aren’t much better, lol !
Ammi visnaga and Sweet William seedlings in cold frame

Anemone blanda

Area where we took out a tree: new Hellebore Anna’s Red (named for Anna Pavord) and a pale yellow Hellebore

My favourite double Hellebore – would love to know the variety, but – sorry – I couldn’t get down low enough to show the flowers properly

Hanging baskets in greenhouse, planted up with plugs (Fuschia, trailing geranium and Bacopa)

Short but sweet . . . happy gardening and Happy Easter to everyone on GoY :))

Happy Easter Sheila.
We have sunshine this morning too, something we've had hardly any of for weeks. It really has been cold and miserable down here but, hopefully Spring is here now, well until it rains all day Saturday at least.Well, it usually rains all Easter weekend, doesn't it?
I planted my Kojo No Mai yesterday . It's been hardening off since buying it a few weeks ago.

Thank you very much everyone :)

Paul - glad you have sunshine too - it's so cheering, isn't it - and good luck with your new Prunus.

Yes Stera - come March, and I'm off to the GC for plugs, then into the baskets they go . . . great savings, and when the frosts are over, they'll be all grown up and ready to go outside.

Julia - good to know you're loving the Spring too.

Sheila, you're very kind with your generous comments.

Karen, it's been really cold here - not quite on a par with Scotland, but still. We certainly need a few weeks of warmth now . . .

Happy Easter Sheila. That is a lovely new area with hellebores and your baskets already planted ready to explode in blooms! My pots are still messy from the last year...full of dead plants :-( Must get to work soon.

Actually Sheila...looking again, your prunus IS ahead of mine. The buds on mine are tighter shut than yours for sure. Don't worry, you're not going Scottish climatically! :)

Thank you Klahanie . . . hope you have a very Happy Easter weekend too. I just love my greenhouse, so I'll be out there whatever the weather . . . the housework gets neglected!

I won't worry then Karen: I'm sure we're not competitive as far as blossom is concerned - just love it when it appears :))

Great to see everything moving Sheila.....your double yellow hellebore is spectacular, a real stunner! Another few days Sheila and Kojo will be in full flower....could see the two though...:)) I've one Kojo that's nearly finished and the other still tight buds..strange isn't it? My snowshowers should soon be out too, that for me is the beginning of spring..:) X

Happy Easter Sheila.

Love your baskets so neatly planted up. I love bacopa, it is so pretty and dainty.

We have been away and our garden seems to have been at a complete standstill. It must have been cold and dry. Today has been a lovely day and it really looked as if it was coming to life before our eyes!!

Not so good tomorrow though!
