Cymbidium Chestnut

I like Cymbidium Orchids because they do well for me. The first of three different pseudobulbs I bought in Madeira in 2015 has just started to flower. It is called Castanha, which translated means Chestnut. I thought looking at the photo that came with it, the flower would be a deep brown colour like a Chestnut Conker.
But no it looks the colour of a sweet Chestnut kernel.
Interestingly one of the blooms show fasciation, where the flower head has been duplicated.
It is growing on me, I like the pink lip. I will have to wait another year to see if the other 2 purchases will flower.

Its lovely! I like this much better than a brick red one.

Thanks 3Ck, a brick red one would show up better against the wall colour, which is actually the shade in the second pic. The last pic was taken v. early in the morning.

Striking bloom. I wonder how long the flower will last. I know orchids seem to last for quite a long time. It's an unusual but beautiful colour.
