On the Back Fence

I have tried to plant a living wall along the back fence. From the left corner, starting to flower now Trachelospermum jasminoides, a cutting from the one around the front door, wonderful scent.
Next to it an Olive Tree, just worked out it is now 15 years old and trained flat against the fence. Both plants evergreen.

A close up of the developing flowers on the Olive. I’ve yet to have an olive from it.
To the right the dying flowers (yellow) of Billardiera longiflora. These will develop purple fruits in Autumn.

Further along the purple leaves of Cotinus, which shortly will have masses of tiny buff coloured flower. Unfortunately this shrub is deciduous, so leaves a bare bit of fence in winter.

A Cistus with silk like purple flowers at the base and a blue/green leaved Rue to the right. The white flowers of Convolvulus cneorum to the left just dying back.

Clematis viticella rubra grows through these and a bit further along Rosa Schoolgirl, but she is flowering high up out of reach.
Just before the right hand corner, an Hypericum that gets pruned flattish against the fence is just starting to flower. It will be a sheet of yellow shortly.

Further along a Euonymus and at the end a huge Elaeagnus to hide over-the-back’s carport roof. Across the end is the late afternoon seat, but much too cold today to do any sitting ouside, hence the blog.
