Hemerocallis For Thorney

What a difference a year makes.
As Wylie, (he is the expert on here for Hemerocallis) says they don’t show their full potential (or other wise) till their second year of flowering.
This is H. Dragon Dreams flowering 2019, a largish flower
This year 2020, the flowers are about 3", the stated size in the Daylily Data Base. I wouldn’t call the flowers Lilac though.
Seems that Daylilies can be very variable according to age, temperature and maybe soil type. So maybe Thorney, our Steve Trimmers are the same?
Anyone else please add your views.

I think they change and some of mine were small pieces dug up over autumn/winter months after the collection went and I think I could find more if I looked hard enough. Some still haven't flowered yet and although there were labels round and about you never know if they applied to what you dug up or had just been dropped there.

On my allotment, because the soil is better, my Daylily seedlings are starting to flower in their third season. I measured that spider type you commented upon, it's 6" across without unfurling the petals.

I have a couple of orange ones that vary widely from year to year too.
some are semi double one year and single the next.
