I have 2 varieties of Echinacea which i grow in the sunny front garden. Grown from seed.
Magnus which took two attempts several years ago. The first batch of seedlings was decimated by slugs as soon as they were planted out in the border. The second sowing was successfully planted out. This year Magnus was rather slow to get going but now they are doing well.
Watermelon series also grown from seed a couple of years ago. I grew them on further before planting out. I did plant one seedling in the more shady back garden but it is now nowhere to be seen.
I hope to grow White Swan next year to complete my mini collection.

Both equally attractive, Sue. I’ve one in my garden, a pink one, getting ready to bloom for the first time. I’m quite excited!

I love these but have absolutely no luck with keeping them. I grew 2 packets from seed. Most germinated. What the slugs didn't have were then planted out. Lovely looking last year, 2 left this year. Won't bother again as they are such a long-term project. I shall enjoy yours!

I wonder if Echinacea are troubled by slugs on The Prairies?

Tricky plants……but worth the effort….

Magnus had been with me for 7 years now, after a sluggy start. I hope my Water Melon last as well, it has been swamped by an Aster.

I love these plants. I have grown E pallida from seed in the past and they did well until the frosts of 2012.
White swan is wonderful and you wont be disappointed. I grew mine from seed and only planted 3 and slugs claimed one of them.
