Hi.
Well what a differece a week makes. Where has all the lovley sunny days gone? Here at Evesham today 28/03/009 it is very cold, windy and grey skies, mind you the sun does come out now and again.

The garden look all nice and ‘Yellow’ with all the daffs and this really bright bush that I have no idea what it is. I do know that it does make you feel cheerful just looking at it.

We have a few ducks and geese already laying and the pair of swans we have are also getting ‘loved’ up. The cob is looking brilliant in the next photo as he has just impressed his mate by showing a goose where to go.

The next photo shows him a little more relaxed, but still looking great.

I had been waiting for days to get those two photos as the cob moves so fast in the water but I am really please with the results.
My last photo is for all you cat lovers, it is a photo of my cat Sophie having a nap. It was amazing she didn’t fall off.

I was watching the Kingfisher the other day and would love to get a photo, they seem to wait until I have my camera ready and as I am about to take the shot he flys away, but one day i will get it.
Have a good week-end.

Do you live that close to the canal? It must be a lovely place to live. The yellow shrub is a forsythia, they really are a cheerful sight in this miserable weather, aren't they!

Hello Donnah
Thanks for your message it is always nice to hear that other people enjoy the photos. The yellow bush I have been told is called a FORSYTHIA.

hello there Lincslass
What a brilliant idea in growing the Forsythia as a hedge I think I will give that a try. Do you need several plants, and does it take long? I was thinking I could put it at the bottom of my garden (the one shown in flood) I have a bare section so could grow it along the fence to fence high. Gosh you have got my mind thinking now, yes it will look great there as a hedge.
Thank you very much.

Hello Madmum
I do not live near the canals but I do live on the River Avon at Evesham in Worcestershire. the nearest canal is The Stratford canal which is a days cruising to reach it or by car 30 mins. By boat is far nicer.
My husband and myself are lock keepers, we also live on our 60ft narrowboat and so enjoy the wildlife that is all around us. It is a fantastic job and a beautiful place to be.

I just read your profile - what an amazing place to live! So sorry about your house, I do hope your new house is as interesting!

It's really easy to propagate forsythia - take a branch that is close to the ground, bend it down and peg it into the soil. Where it's in contact with the soil it will produce roots, and you can then separate it from the parent plant.

They grow really quickly, so you could soon have a hedge full of forsythia!

Good Morning Madmum
Yes it is lovely where we live, I don't know if you have children or not but even if you don't or they are grown up now but the A frame house here was used in the Rosie and Jim productions. Most of the little ones when they arrive here on the boats get really excited at seeing Rosie and Jims house.

Thanks for telling me how to do the forsythia, as it's a sunny day today and I have some long fresh groth on the plant I will set to it today and I will let you know how I get on. I shall add you to my favourits.
