Went for a walk at the local greenbelt park across the street.

We took advantage of the break in bad weather. Everything there is soaking wet. The little creek has over run its banks. One park bench was in mud up to the seat. This creek is so narrow usually you can jump across it.
Also- the hills are so full of water..its coming out of the sides of the hills here and there like artesian waters..only muddy-lol.

Is that a eucalyptus tree with the beautiful bark? It makes me want to paint it. It's a lovely park.

Thanks all. That is a Eucalyptus Marjorie. The tall one on the hillside are Blue Gums..the others in photos are another smaller species.
The big red duck is a wild Muscovy Duck. He was tame as can be.

You're welcome. I should explain this is a wild type public park. In the hills and down the trails you can walk up to cattle. The only non native plants- like the palms- are from some day when somebody spit out dates seeds. Or birds?
It also is part old farm. Has red barn, old rusty 1930's farm machinery still place and painted with rust.
They do have a working Apple farm of old heirloom varieties. Then,an apple harvest festival. I once helped on the spring pruning many years ago. Fun.
Those hills get the full brunt of the SF bay breeze- all year- and so you can watch kite flyers.
I used to walk there everyday with my dog. Good times!

How nice to live near an heirloom apple farm! Most of our orchards have been grubbed up and we have to make do with tasteless imports most of the year.

Lets hope with Britex Steragram we will get our orchards back hopefully thats if they have nt built houses on the land here they wsnt to build on houses on our greenbelts not for our children either.
