The last rains of the year?

One radio station went out on a limb and called this weekends piddly rains…the last before our high pressure creates the Mediterranean climate that we are. It did soak well on Friday..but Sunday night is supposed to be the California swan song.
I always am amazed that the Tropical plants I have react to the longer days even if the days and nights are quite cool. Banana’s have new leafs,Mango buds are swelling,Guava’s have new tip growth. The days are Sunnier here now..the no rain days passing the rain days and by more all the time.
We will finish the year at about 18" of rain. Not sure what in millimeters that is.
Whats amazing? 2 years ago I was posting story’s of people in Santa Cruz stealing water from each other’s storage tanks. A nudist colony actually laid a mile of PVC pipe through a state park to siphon off a tiny creeks water. Desperate! They were prosecuted.
This year? The Santa Cruz mountains have received over 90" of rain. That’s in the rainforests of Hawaii range!
Big changes in only 6 months since October.
