Ancient trees have an aura. I'm a self confessed "Tree Hugger". Pine and Camphor...does it smell as good as it looks?

Spectacular trees! I, like Lori, love trees, what better place for eternal rest than among some glorious trees.

Lori- after a rain they are said to give off the aroma. Interesting too about those trees? When it rains, the trunk and big branches turn black. A nice contrast to the golden canopy.
Honey, the Hoop pine,is one of the biggest in the state. I wish I knew when it was planted. Must have been 75 or more years ago.
The last trees? Syzgium. Usually they are grown as hedges. Or at Disneyland as topiary animals. Seeing them as these old 30' trees is amazing.

A (late) US penfriend sent me a small cushion filled with pine and camphor ?. It gave off a very pleasant aroma.

I love trees also except when they fall down unexpectedly!!

Amen to that Eirlys! I'm still cutting up deadfalls from last summer. There is a native remedy for bronchitis which is the buds of the balsam fir... a "very pleasant aroma"..and it works to ease congestion.

Eucalyptus is everywhere here. I never tried it for minor Asthma. My wife likes Eucalyptus when I've picked some.
Our native California Bay is very pungent..a spicy mint aroma.
