but when she does make an entrance it`s worth the wait, hope you agree.
“Phyllis Bides” a rose from david autin planted in June `07 and has reached the top of the arch in just two years and is blooming prolificately.
Through the arch you can just see the Mexican orange blossom .
And this is a close up, the open rose are about 2.5 – 3 inches across.

It's a beautiful colour, and has grown into a lovely plant. I'm very pleased for you.

Warning!! Roses grow on you Shirley. You start with one..... I reached over 50 but I'm down to about 30 now. They are time-consuming.

Love your arch Stroller ... it's very oriental. Really nice. The orange blossom has a fab scent yes? The rose is a gorgeous mix of yellow & peach.

That's lovely Shirley. I have planted a similar coloured rose on my new arch. It is growing and has a couple of small buds already. I hope it does as well as yours! My one is called 'Papi Delbard'.

What a gorgeous rose Stroller...I`m waiting for an Arthur Bell climber to get to the top of my arch. It was planted last year and is half way up so with luch it will reach the top by next Summer. Your garden is beautiful. :o)

Thank you all for your lovely comments.
Heron your quite right Roses do grow on you, I`ve now got seven - five of which have been bought in the last twelve months ...... still a long way to go to catch up with you.lol.
Labdancer .... this one is on my wish list - named after the Scottish Whisky manufacturer - hope the scent isn`t to intoxicating ha ha?.
Karen hadn`t come across this one till you mentioned it, looking it up it sounds beautiful and a good perfume aswell.

There's nothing like the perfume of roses, other flowers have wonderful scent too but the scent of roses is so varied and delicate. Once years ago I was walking through an overgrown and neglected garden when I got a whiff of a really strong but wonderful scent, after an extensive search I narrowed it down to just one white bloom on a shrub that was smothered straggly and riddled with blackspot. no label though Lol

I wonder if it was `Margaret Merrill` Heron I think this is one of the best perfumed white roses.?

I love Phyllis Bides. I will find a spot for one by the sumerhouse, (when I get a summerhouse in the next year or two)!

Heron you might find out what it was by going to the following site. http://www.rosesuk.com/rose_locator/roses_by_colour/
