I bought a few plug plants yesterday but it was just to cold to go in the greenhouse to pot them on, it was also begining to snow. So here I am looking thru old garden photos from last June to see where I can fit a few more plants in and I came across a couple of pics that really cheered me up and gave me something to look forward to hopefully. I haven`t done a blog for a while so perhaps you wont mind me sharing these with you.
All mixing and mingling there`s White verbascum, phlox, rose `hot chocolate` sambuscus `black beauty`, a rose bud from `aloha` , lavetera `barnsley` malva, thalictrum `hewitts double`, a salvia and the fairy rose.
and here we have the rose `dublin bay` growing thru trachelospermum jasminoides which seems to get better and better each year.
Unfortunately the lavetera `barnsley` isnt looking too good at the moment and I can only hope that it survives. But then its what gardening is all about.
Hope all you moms out there are having a good day, I`m now off to put my glad rags on and out for a meal.

Thanks for sharing the pics of your lovely garden, they helped to cheer me up whilst recovering from a nasty virus. Not been much of a Mothers Day as visitors are banned!

What cheerful & uplifting pics...a real tonic to the dismal Glasgow weather.
You couldn't have posted them at a better time!

I hope you enjoyed your meal :o)

A nice reminder of how things were & therefore things to come again when winter finally ends. My L. Barnsley is looking pretty sick. It doesn't grow as strongly as the ordinary type, so we'll have to wait & see, won't we?

I didn't realise Barnsley was a bit more vulnerable to cold...I'll be keeping an eye on mine too now!

Thank you one and all for your kind comments and yes I enjoyed my meal enourmously. Hope your making good progress getting over that virus Waddy and will be full of vigour by the time we get any gardening weather.
Yes Karen as Feverfew says its more vunerable than the other one, lost one a couple of years back and was hoping to hang on to this one but despite planting it in a more sheltered spot it doesn`t look to good.
We have lovely sunshine at the moment but the washing I`ve not long pegged out is as stiff as a board and we now have a few flakes of snow, nothing boring about our weather is there.lol.

Thanks Stroller, feeling much better to day, glad you had nice meal.
I used to have a Lavatera Barnsley in my old garden and loved it, but when I tried to get on for our present garden, I couldn't find one anywhere, only 'Baby Barnsley', not the same at all. I was eventually told at one GC that they were now 'old fashioned' and nobody wanted them any more....I did and still looking!

Keep looking waddy. I got mine last year at the G.C.

Well old fashioned or not Waddy I bought it because our surname is Barnsley and I thought it would be tougher than its turned out to be.

...and I bought it because my Mum is from Barnsley area and I though the same! ;)

I want one just 'cause I like it. :)
