The Bridge gets a facelift,

Two tiers of wood underneath either end to give a feeling of an arch shape, the slim top rail lowered either end to give a slight curve and a coat of paint making it lighter. I`ve added a mirror so that it looks as if the bridge is much longer.
The mirror part I`m not sure of but it will stay awhile until I can make up my mind , the bridge itself I am quite pleased with.
I`m showing the before and after pictures so you can make up your minds as to whether the revamp was a good idea – or maybe not – honest comments please, I shan`t be offended if you think it hasn`t worked.

I think it is a triumph! mirror, paint job and optical illusion too! Well done.

As if any of your makeovers are a bad idea Stroller - looks great and the mirror, well, top marks for even coming up with that idea.

The mirror makes it look bigger and as if the bridge leads somewhere too. (But its one more thing to clean...)

It looks great Stroller , but I always worry about birds flying into a mirror in a garden ! I hope you don't mind me saying this !

I like the bridge. It looks nice now. The colour is very pleasing.
Not too sure about the mirror lol .... but that's probably because I don't like seeing myself .... :)

I`m glad that you like the makeover, and Rose that is a concern but as yet there have been no casualties.

You've done a grand job there Phyl ... love the new look bridge ... I am interested in how you have fitted the mirror and kept it stable.(

Hi Shirley, glad you like it. The mirror is plastic garden mirror so not as heavy as glass we have backed it with yacht ply wood and Paul next door has very kindly hammered a piece long 5ft pce of andy angle into the ground about 18 inches and screwed the mirror to this thru the trellis we are growing a clematis for him up this to hide it - what a wonderful neighbour.

Ah, now I understand. Wonderful neighbour indeed Phyl, bit like ours who made us the lovely wood arbour a couple of years ago. Lucky aren't we? :o)

I had missed this one Stroller, I do like the mirror effect, its added a whole new look and makes one want to go across the bridge, it sort of draws one if you get my meaning....
