Signs of hope and spring.

Just a few things that are showing signs of spring promise in the garden today, loads of sunshine which was nice too.

Just had to put this in, Carex testeracea goes a lovely orange colour, still just a young seedling.

My Carex ‘red rooster’ got a bit too big so I split it and put this bit by the pond.

Just one of my snowdrops on the rockery.

One of my hellebores down the side garden.

One for Paul, Contoneaster horizontalis just getting some fresh new leaves.

Some botanical crocus in the side garden.

Clematis nelly mosa starting to develop buds.

New fronds on the ferns that I have.

My shade bed, it’s got loads of aquilegia and clematis fragrant Oberon, honeysuckle belgica, both dicentras red and white, cyclamen, corydalis, wild orchids, campanula and a few more.

Centaurea forming buds.

Peony shoots emerging.

One of my many seed grow semps in memory of my dad.

Glory of the snow found hiding under a wallflower the little bugger…

On my shed bench a 2 year old seed grown tropaeolum azureum shooting up now.

Even the delphiniums are showing Good signs now.

That’s about it for now, hope you liked the pics, and thanks for looking.

You still had to use magnifying glasses to find some movement in the garden, but yes, it is certainly promising :))
By the way, I noticed, you have very fertile looking soil. We call it "chernozem" (blackland).

Spring is well on the way now. It's such a relief to see everything coming along so well now :o)
I like that red rooster Carex. Think I might try and get one. Would it grow in a pot do you think ?

Thanks Kat, yes I use a lot of compost on the garden as it used to be crazy paving and was full of building sand and rubble.

Thanks Sottish, yes all looking promising now.

Hywel the red rooster would be fine in a pot as long as its not to dry. But it loves sun or part shade, all the new growth on it has a red colour to it.
