I’m not very brave when it comes to cows, especially when the OH and I are out on a walk and we have to cut through a field with them in. When we got home from holiday yesterday, the cows had moved in to the field at the back of the cottage so I took some photos of them!

can’t quite see them, need to get closer!

what about from up here, nope! I’m going to have to go outside and try from an udder viewpoint!

How about from here, still not close enough! trying not to be a cow-ard and get closer!

Courage at last – so I MOOOVED in for a close up!

I normally push my OH in front of me with the walking stick. We have had cows come up so close some times, you can feel their hot breath on the back of you. I just throw a wobbly lol

These look like hefers - youngsters that haven't had their first calf yet. They will be very interested in you, like any youngster life is full of fun. I love cows although they can be rather stupid in nature, I think my love of them stems from my grandfather being a farmer, and my mum worked for him when she left school so I have good memories. For example Grandpa used to sit me on a cow so I could keep up (i would be about 5 years old) when we brought the cows in for milking.- very fond memories ohhh thats really got the memories flowing back.

I got chased by a field of young cows when I was little.... we decided to go in the field and give them some apples, but then one stepped forwards and they all stepped forwards and one of the girls yelled at us to run and they took chase so we had to leg it and scrape our way out under the fences.... it was quite funny, but not an experience I'd like to repeat!
They give such a lovely touch to your view though! and I love all your pictures and mooovelous puns ;)

Very good pun Jennyfer! LOL We often have to cross a field with cows in on walks here and my heart is in my mouth until we get to the other side, I'm Udderly terrified. :-)

We went to Devon last October to buy or Goldie puppy, on our first visit we went a walk along the River Exe. The field was full of young bullocks.

I have never mooo'ved so quickly without running. I'm sure they were laughing at us. Moo hoo hoo.

Very funny Grannyb your puns have made me laugh!

Yes Hywel! we are very lucky the view makes up for my small back garden. Would I swap for a much larger enclosed garden?. A few years back the answer would have been yes, but now I can't manage the garden I have some days, so its lovely to have the view!

Thank you Rose your garden looks lovely too!

It's good to 'downsize' I also did it when I couldn't manage the big garden I had, and ike you I've got a nice view aswell. It's like part of your garden but you haven't got to do anything to it lol :o)

You have a lovely view too! I loved the wild flower walk near you. I'm going to change the garden over the next couple of years and have some raised beds for alpines and rock plants. Just need some pennies, maybe once we have solid our flat in Guildford hopefully next year, I can get the conservatory put on and redesign the garden.

That sounds great - raised beds mean not so much bending lol. And there are some lovely alpines to be had. A conservatory is a wonderful thing aswell. I sit in mine all year round and look down the garden. Once you have one you never want to be without it.
Good luck. I hope you can do it soon :o)
