Spring has sprung

Hi all! Isn’t it lovely to see spring here at last with everything in the garden starting to come to life. Every morning I look out the window to see new plants that have poked through the earth overnight. It is like having a birthday every day for me, as I have forgotten what I planted up last year. I’m not very good at labelling my plants; I’m more of your see it, buy it, plant it and hope for the best type of gardener LOL! It looks like there will be a good crop of apples this year as the trees have been loaded with blossom.

The bluebells down in the dell have multiplied and are spreading over to the rest of the bank and I didn’t have to lift a finger – isn’t nature wonderful! We have spent the last few sunny weekends tiding up from the winter and pulling out the inevitable weeds.

On a non-gardening note, we have a new pussycat arriving at the weekend. He is a 13 year old moggy we fell in love with at our local cat rescue centre, we just loved his large amber eyes. His name is Casper and promises to be a lovely lump of cuddle, not sure what Glen is going to make of him!

Teds your blogs do cheer me up! i second everything you say about this fantastic time of year, and your new pussycat is totally gorgeous. Those eyes are so unusual. I hope he settles quickly - he will be glad to get out of the cage into a loving home.

Sorry to rub it in Karen, but we are in the west country so we are at least a few degrees warmer than Scotland. But look on the brightside most of my tulips are over now but you still have the joy of Orange Princess what a beautiful tulip.

He has got the most amazing eyes Steragram we are looking forward to getting him on Saturday. It has been two years since we said goodbye to our dear old Basil he was a Russian blue. It has been nice having a good nights sleep for the past two years, no soft paws patting your face in the middle of the night. Having a pet in the house does make it more homely so it is back to less sleep but lots of pussycat cuddles.

You lucky duck. Casper is gorgeous. I really miss my pussycat cuddles. Both mine had to be sent to pussycat heaven within a month of each other last year. But, we have decided not to get another one until we move back to the uk in a couple of years.

What a beautiful garden you have.

Yes Teds...quite a few degrees! We are usually 10C lower than London these days. But hey, that's the price of clean air and beautiful water I guess. ;)

Hi all thanks for your nice comments, we are in Cornwall for a few days so I hadn't looked at my post. If I get a chance when we get home I will put up some pictures of our time here, if Casper stops cuddling me ;-)

I would like to get some evergreen flag Iris and put them in the gravel near the veg beds and make a seaside plot with grasses, has anyone got suggestions please.
