I have been driven up to the computer because the heavens opened and I can barely see beyond the end of my garden! My OH may have to rescue next door’s guinea pig (he pig-sits) before it drowns in its grassy pen.
But who cares…I found the most gorgeous little clematis while googling the Chelsea Flower Show…Guernsey Clematis “Avante Garde”..red petals with pink anthers(?)..a really showy little number…

I'm with you Grandmage.....don't lets tell Oh's.
Very wet here too but with the bursts of sun that get to peek through once in awhile the trees are looking really nice....autumn colours slowly coming to the fore.

http://www.clematis-nursery.co.uk/page313.html I couldn't locate a photo on the RHS site but did find this one on another nursery site. It looks very bold in colour.
......not advertising the nursery....just to show a photo! :)

Just had a look at Avante Garde, isn't it pretty. Havn't got space for any more clematis (always say that) but have got to have one. It is a beauty.

Ha ha Rohima! You are showing the early signs of an infectious disease knows as Chronic Clemitis ...you have two choices. You can either give in and become a blethering idiot like me; or you can put the catalogue down, close down the browser and focus on your Acer collection for at least half an hour a day. Sometimes complete abstinence for at least a year can get rid of the infection, but I have to tell you....I think you might be too late! Good news is, this disease, unlike many others (of which i know you have experience!) doesn't give any pain at all except to the wallet (which has no feelings) and brings much joy...sometimes all year round if you can find a sheltered spot for a Clematis Cirrhosa!! Best wishes, Karen x
