Trip to Bicton Gardens in Devon

On Friday Joy and I had the chance to visit Bicton Botanical Gardens, near Sidmouth. We were lucky with the weather and spent 2 hours investigating the gardens.
The gardens are well laid out and very well kept.
The Rhododendrons were out and not too far gone.
The most impressive part of the gardens, were the trees.
In one of the little woods they had provided a ‘hide’ with bird feeders. We saw rabbits and Great Tits.
We found a paddock with sheep and we even managed to see a horse show!
We finally got back to the start and also bagged ourselves some bargains in the shop. Altogether, a wonderful visit and a garden we will visit again.

What a tranquil setting for all those different activities. I love bird hides. We sat in one at Lough Neigh near Belfast and watched as ducks landed on the icy surface. When they took off there was 6 instead of three and wait for it, 3 were flying upside down. You sussed it, it was so clear that we were seeing their reflections on the thin layer of water above the ice. lol. Thank you for sharing with us.

Thanks Paul for showing us your lovely pictures. It is years since I went to Bicton, but I still remember it fondly. I love those trees. Very fond of trees.
