My son can’t stand on one spot very long doctors orders because of an illness cellulitis in his leg so he sits on a kitchen chair and digs the garden with a new German made digger called Gloria it’s as heavy as a Strummer so pretty light weight they cost around £70.00. I thought it might help some people on here who are unable to dig it even digs hard soil.

Thank you 3d bit. I can manage holding my Rollator Walking Aid with my left hand, digging with my right hand.
Better with dry ground. Give up before winter.
I have lost the balance in my lumbar muscles. The strange thing is if I hold the branch of a bush or plant with my left hand I can balance although they are not firm at all.
Think they just reassure me.

What a clever design 3p. Seems easy to manage and gets the job done.

My son loves it Bathgate as you say it's easy and get s te job done. The swollen feet in the last photo is my son sitting down using it last week it was full of weeds two feet high.
B&Q here sell one with thinner blades with cutters on which I don't think is as good.

I find the important thing is to think out what I am going to do first. Then go up the garden with the right tool, and its easy. Also bag up all the rubbish before leaving off. Leaves the garden tidy.
Main thing is to get out in the fresh air, good for endorphins.

3d It looks as though you push it in and it rotates is that correct ? how long are the prongs.
27 Aug, 2018
Yes I think that's how it works Brian it does do hard ground in the last photo that's where all tree roots are very hard to dig I would say the prongs are about six inches long.

What a brilliant piece of kit. Where did your son get it. My soil is really hard clay and is impossible to dig most of the year.
