Tadpoles 2

2-3 weeks old now. I put some back into the pond to take their chances (at least 4 are still alive out there).
The ones in the tank are getting on well. I’ve just started to feed them boiling lettuce.
(apologies for the rather large air stone – this is destined for the pond – I just give a half hour blast in the evening)

time enough to think about the plague of frogs when I know how many survive. I think (most) will be released into the pond next weekend when I have a friend's children visiting. I'll keep a few in the tank so that the kids can watch them develop.
The tank has then been earmarked for a cold water nano aquarium setup. I used to keep tropical and cold water fish (separate tanks) always preferred the cold water so the challenge will be to transfer fullsize aquarium skills to a nano (20 litre) tank.

Thank you on behalf of all these froggies. I heard about the frog die off and am grateful for your noble effort to save them.

The children will be thrilled to help with that, our own and then our grandchildren have spent hours watching the taddies develop over the years, my grandchildren still check them out even though both mini adults now with a pond in their own garden...
