Red alert on Wisteria

Item on the news tonight – RHS reporting on the spread of large wisteria scale – originally confined to central London now found spreading out rapidly. Look for 1cm brown lumps on the woody stems. Either wash off with soapy water or use insecticide. Will kill the plant if it manages to take hold – which apparently it does very quickly so they suggest vigilance.
There are several reports if you google it.
Keep your eyes open folks.

Oh no. I have 12 wisterias in my garden! (All v small) I live in cumbria so it may be a while longer. Also it is about 10 degrees cooler up here. Does temperature affect the spread of this disease?
