This week in the garden

I normally have a blackbird or two nesting in the garden each year but this week I watched a thrush busily collecting nesting material and disappearing into here:
Does this show good taste?
Then Mr Greater Spotted Woodpecker unexpectedly visited the bird feeder – followed a minute later by his son. As usual I didn’t have my camera within reach so just watched him being fed by dad. He then flew onto a nearby rail and settled down for a doze while dad flew into the silver birch to keep watch:
While he was sitting there taking his ease I could hear a Kite calling so checked his usual perch.
Have a good weekend, all.

You certainly have some beautiful birds around you Wagger. I think that your Thrush definitely has good taste, moving into such a well decorated home.
Even though it makes me very envious when I see your garden and it's wildlife, I will still look forward to you next blog.
