Today when I was just about to send a PM to someone on GoY, a loud voice came booming down the airways and a new picture appeared on the screen telling me that it wasn’t a scam but it definitely was!
It was quite alarming and actually frightened me a bit and I could not get rid of it no matter how hard I tried. In the end I switched off the computer and waited for a while before returning.
We are Norton protected so how could this happen? Is it something to be really concerned about do you think?

Do Norton have a forum Chris - you might find answers there. Check your pop up blocker is active. As DD2 says, there will be others experiencing this.

That does sound disturbing,Chris..I hope you manage to find out what it was..not something I've heard of before...I just had to break off,as the phone rang...someone called Laura,from The Hothouse company !

I'm glad I'm not the only one having this kind of trouble. I'll tell you what i did in the end...which seems to have worked...go to your control panel and then to the uninstall/change programs option. When the list of programs comes up, have a look at what has installed recently, and uninstall anything that you didn't intentionally install in the last few days. It seems to have worked for me.

Very strange. I don't have the sound turned on on my computer unless I particularly want to listen to something. As Pamg says tell admin...

Thank you for all comments here. We have checked the control panel now and have uninstalled one or two things and I have also contacted Admin to tell them of my plight! Norton is next on the list as they have a phone number that I can ring.
I much appreciate your help in getting rid of my 'unwanted friend!!!'
Oh yes I have also turned the sound down so at least he can be silenced!
