Laid up at home, not very well!

In all this glorious weather I am at home feeling not too good so I have time to show you our summery garden at the moment.
I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine and are not too hot!

This hanging basket is on our shed and I am pleased with the way it has turned out. It seems to go with the shed!

The white rose is beautiful at the moment before scattering its petals everywhere!

These astilbes were bought from Marland Gardens near Barnstaple where they have a large collection of them.

Red geraniums by the gate, Lady’s Mantle on the steps and my first two sweet peas!

Our new greenhouse which replaces the old one that was destroyed by the winter storms.

Little corners of the garden in the pictures above.

That chair is waiting for me, now, where is my book?

Thank you so much for looking and I hope you have found a nice spot on the shade.

Get well soon Chris. It’s too hot to work so you’re better off in that lovely chair enjoying your book and garden. Keep well hydrated. Xx

Chris, I'm sorry to read that you're not feeling 100%, wishing you a quick recovery to enjoy the weather.

Your new greenhouse looks wonderful, with John next to it too! I do like the square of unmown lawn.

Enjoy your book. Btw, I'm still using the bookmark you sent me ... :o))

Shame you are not very well, Chris, but I wish you a quick recovery so that you may enjoy your lovely garden.

That white rose arch is quite something! You also need to fill up your new greenhouse, it's looking rather forlorn at the moment!

Meadowland, sorry you have felt unwell too. Mine was a tummy bug and today is the first day I feel a little bit better. Hope you do too.

Karen I am just about managing to dead head the roses and water with the hose! But, the book is first choice!

Shirley I wish I felt like food - even rocket does not appeal but you did make me laugh!

Balcony it was a strange time of year to get the greenhouse delivered as we were a bit late for sowing seeds etc. Perhaps a few tomato plants would cheer it up and today a friend gave me two melon plants!

Sheila thank you for your kind wishes, I have spent a lot of time sitting in the shade and have just finished a good book. Feeling a bit better at last.

Thanks to ALL of you for your good wishes they really have cheered me up.

Is it me or has the web site become slow to respond?

20 Jun, 2025

No it isn't you Chris, this site has deteriorated so much recently. It takes so very long to view the photos and blogs that I think many of us just give up. Writing a blog is a long process now, as I'm sure you discovered.

Today I have emailed Dave (Shedman) to see if he could 'shake things up' a bit! Fingers crossed.

Thanks for emailing Dave, Shirley. Other times he has been able to make some difference to our "complaints" about GoY, so perhaps he'll be able to do something.

Thank you Shirley you have come to the rescue again! My
fingers shall be tightly crossed for everyone’s sake.

I do hope something can be sorted ... otherwise I may defect to another gardening forum!

21 Jun, 2025

I've been posting on another gardening forum for about 3 years now as well as on GoY! For about 2 years I was posting on 2 other gardening forums then I stopped posting on one of them when an enormous influx of new members, from a forum that was closing, suddenly invaded it! I continue on the other, much smaller one still.

David, I have just sent you a PM (16.45) and hope you receive it!

I like all your photos Wildrose, I hope you feel better soon. I am having trouble also with GOY. xx

22 Jun, 2025

I've tried GFs for a few weeks...the layout is so different from Goy and not as clear especially the size of print. I'm sure there are a few who would disagree. Let's hope Dave can
help. Now I see my photos have disappeared from the blog.

Hello Chris, I hope you are feeling much better now!
Your garden is wonderful and I love those sweet peas. I grew mine in the autumn, a pale pink but no scent. So disappointing!
I do love your new greenhouse! So envious!
I will write to you soon.
Lots of love Rose x

Thank you Callie I am a lot better now and just need to get some energy back!!

Julia it is tiresome when the website is not functioning like it used to! I seem to have lots of feet in my blog now - very attractive!!! Let’s hope it improves.

Rose lovely to see you and thank you for your very encouraging comments. I shall write to you soon. Quite a few plants in the garden are becoming unruly now as they always do at this time of year!!

Glad to hear you are feeling better. Your garden is looking quite lush, you must have been watering regularly! Is the white rose Rambling Rector? The astilbes are lovely too as well as your hanging basket.

25 Jun, 2025

Feverfew thank you for your good wishes, having only felt like eating baked potatoes for a few days I now feel a lot better!!! I think the rose is Rambling Rector - it does take a lot of taming as it tends to go quite mad!
