As Summer clings on, Autumn takes over.

The Autumn colours already are spectacular but as the weeks go by I think they are going to be really magnificent.
The mild weather has prolonged summer in the garden and it is good to see a mixture of summer and autumn out there even though the fallen leaves and apples are now making it all a bit untidy – I shan’t be photographing those!!
Nothing new on the pictures just a mix of summer scents and autumn colours.
Enjoy the beautiful Autumn colours and don’t worry too much about brushing up all those leaves – sometimes the wind will do the job for you!!!

I think this is one of the finest Autumns I've ever seen. My garden is absolutely full of colour and I'm loving it! I'm glad we have seasons...I would miss them. Thanks for sharing your autumn joys Chris!

Sunnydais, the type of tree is a rhus. It is very striking at this time of year.
Karen and Hywel - your gardens are so lovely all the year round and this Autumn has been really colourful for all of us I think.

You have lots of fantastic colour in your garden!
Yesterday when I was walking back home part of the path was covered by trees & it started to rain - leaves! - that is! Today they will all get blown away as we have quite a bit of warm wind!
The same wind is filling our balcony with Sycamore seeds! There are 1,000s around here. When they germinate in the spring they get o put out there 1st or 2nd true leaves when along come the council mowers & chop off their heads! Just as well too!

It is so nice to read your kind comments - thank you.
It has 'rained' leaves here today and also hundreds of apples have been falling to the ground!! Those landing on the grass are fine, those landing on the path are not so good and those landing in the middle of a flower bed are a real nuisance!!!
In fact I am quickly going off apples!!!🍏🍎🍏

Beautiful colours Wildrose! Those Sedums are lasting well and still look great - ours gave up several weeks ago.
Lovely begonia - and hasn't the cotoniaster done well? I noticed the hawthorns in the lanes have put on a briliant display this autumn too - lets hope the old wives tale doesn't mean a hard winter!
Here, sadly, we are surrounded by sycamores which never turn any colour but brown. But I do love all fallen leaves in spite of the sweeping up, and who has never enjoyed walking through the crunchy dry ones? There are still plenty of flowers around though, making up for lost time!

Stera, we have had such a rough day here - gales and rain! The garden looks terrible and when the weather calms down there will be a lot of tidying up to do! Not sure what will still look nice and what will have suffered!!
The crunchy leaves underfoot might be a bit soggy for a day or two!!!

Could I ask what kind of tree/bush the 4th photo down is - it looks beautiful!
It all looks lovely, such a great time to take photos, less glare from the sun.
